Ottumwa Iowa. Aug. 23rd. 1879. My Dear Mary: How nice of you to write to me, and to again invite me to visit you! You will believe me that my silence, of a week, has not been intentional when I tell you that I only rec'd your letter last evening: Dr. Rogers remailed it, but failed to re-address it. I was very glad to get it I assure you and would like to visit you too, but I don't think I can now, as my time is some-what limited. It was very kind of you to invite me though; I fully appreciate it.
