the smaller your order, the easier you can dispose of them & use them. Have Homer see that they are all right for you If you can realize the money on the 1st 25.00 I would pay it on the $100.00 mortgage and perhaps the 2nd 25.00 also if you can sell them without more sacrifice than it would be to let the mortgage run on interest. I would not sacrifice much on them for I consider them as good when issued as Treasury notes & rather than sacrifice, I'd get rid of them Keep them I suppose the allotment rolls have not been sent yet to Webb, (or Kynett at Davenport) and so the paymaster may pay us all that is our due here, this time, instead of leaving 10.00 each at Webbs for you. If so I'll express it to you, and if it is the other way you can get it from Webb. You may save enough from my pay to apply some of the mortgage on three months ahead. Say 20 or 25.00 or if you find less will do, also and apply all unless you want something done at home occasionally. I may want the house painted & plastered below next spring. I believe it would be best to do it but all this you can see about yet. & if you think best get the House insured for one year at some 4 or 500.00 it would cost some 4.00. You can do as you think best about it. if you feel sure you are carefull of fire enough to insure it yourself. let it go. Have somebody get those things collected if you can & Have C. do all he can that I wanted done. Don't buy wood at all. have that got by C. Do the best you can to save money. Look occasionally after your heifer out at C's.
