up & down and gunboats at anchor here & there. The drums are beating roll call. We have just had ours. We are now within 6 miles of where we will land on the Miss. side at the mouth of Yazoo River. So I must close this with out an account of landing as I will not have time. I'll do that in my next, when that will be I don't know or when I shall get one from you. Direct still to Helena to follow Reg. My dear wife what may happen I can't say, but I shall not shirk or flinch I know what ever may come. If I am among the missing you may be sure I thought of you last. Do not worry too much about what may happen. I have no fears & if we are parted so it is only in advance a few years at most to meet again when we will never be apart. Tell the children often of Pa. Let me live fresh in their memory as possible whether I live or die. Govern them well. Pray with them for me & all mankind. It will make them tender, large hearted, do them & you good Keep family prayer up well now wife God bless you & the children & keep you all safe in His hand & bring me to you again Love to you. Chauncy be a good boy to the family. Good by all, Yours ever A.R.B.
