Floating Hospital Nashville Apr. 4th 63 My Dear Wife I recd yours of 28th yesterday and will answer it before it gets cold. You cannot have got a letter I wrote a day or two before I came here in which I sent $2.00, for I stated that I got your money all right and several other things you dont answer. you may get it some time. You must think I am an awful "feller" to think Id get mad enough over any thing of the sort, as about that note not to write for a month. Mistakes will happen every where. So you live & keep well. I can stand anything. You say that man said there was only some 36 of it. Well then there is interest on it for 5 years or more. You will see on the back of the note "$2.50 for a saddle" in brackets. that is so much in addition to the sum mentioned in this note, & which Jones ought to pay. It is a very easy matter for Jones to find that he ought to pay, for he can take all the endorsements Fullers & all & cast interest & substract from the principal & what is left he has to pay. I would get rid of the calf somehow How does the old cow do? Glad Lizzie has a school at last and it is in a very good place too. Well I like my place so far tolerably well, have a good deal of leisure time, live pretty well, and I believe am getting some better. I wrote in my last all about it & so will
