Milk Punch Miss Lay Pare very thin 15 lemons & 6 Seville oranges upon which pour 2 quarts of brandy let it stand 24 hours then add qts of Rum the piece of all the fruit, 3 lbs of loaf sugar & 6 quarts of water mix them well have ready 3 pints of boiling milk stir quickly while putting the milk in let is stand a few hours then run it through a jelly bag & put it into bottles. Gingerbread Miss Lay 3 lbs flour, 1 lb treacle, 1 lb butter 1 lb sugar 2 oz ginger the sugar ginger & butter must be rubbed into the flour before the treacle is added mix it well roll it out thin cut them out with a wine glass or tin bake in a gentle oven
