A Recipe for Eruptions in the Face Take a fresh Egg roast it in the Embers of wood or turf ashes until quite hard then take the Yolk, and work it up with as much unsalted Butter or cream as will bring it to the consistance of soft pomatum rub it on the part affected at Bedtime it will in the space of a few days crust and fall off. N:B The smell in rather unpleasant - Wm Pyne
