Seed cake. 1/2 lb of butter, worked to a froth. 1/2 lb of flour, 1/2 lb of sugar, 4 eggs, leaving out one white, lemon peel & carraway seeds to your taste. Sponge Cake. Take 6 eggs, leaving out 3 whites, 1/2 lb of sugar pounded very fine. Mix them & beat half an hour add 1/4 lb of flour & a few drops of essence of lemon, put it quickly into the oven.
