Chocolate Cookies or Chews 1/2 cup shortening 1 2/3 " sugar 2 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs 21 oz unsweetened chocolate melted 2 cups enriched flour 2 teaspoons vanilla 1/2 " salt 1/2 cup milk 1/2 " chopped Black walnuts 1/2 cup XXXX sugar. Cream shortening, sugar & vanilla together Beat in eggs then chocolate Sift dry ingredients together add alternately with milk Blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Chill 2 to 3 hrs Form in balls 1 in. in diameter Roll in XXXX sugar. Place on greased baking sheet 2 to 3 in. apart Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees about 20 min Make 3 Dz
