Corn Bread 1 cup corn meal 1 cup flour 4 teaspoons R. Baking powder 3 " sugar 1 1/2 cups milk 2 tablespoons melted shortening 1 egg Mix and sift dry ingredients add milk shortening & beaten egg, beat well and pour into greased shallow pan. Spanish Pickles 1 doz cucumbers peel- 1/2 " onions Sprinkle with salt & let stand 2 hr. drain well. 1 pt vinegar 1 cup sugar 1 teasp- celery seed 1 " mustard 1 red pepper 1/2 teasp. tumeric Scauld all together Do not boil.
