Jumble cakes Take a lb. of flour, three ounces of ground rice, a lb. of lump sugar, 1/2 lb. of fresh butter, 6 ounces of bitter almonds, 3 ounces of sweet almonds, + 2 eggs. To be baked into a thin paste, + cut out into pieces - part of the sugar kept cut, + dusted over them, they may be cut out according to fancy. see
