Brown War cakes 3/4 c. molasses 1/2 c. water 1/3 c. corn oil (Mazola) 1/4 t. cloves 1/4 t. cinnamon 1 C. seeded raisins Boil ingredients stirring constantly two or 3 min. Stir 1/2 t soda in warm water, just before removing from fire Cool mixture & add (1 1/2 C. flour 1 C barley flour 1 c. rice) sifted with 1 t B.P. Drop on greased pan 1 teaspoon to each cake. Bake in moderate oven.
