The Hall being closed to strangers on all days but Thursday, I was obliged to forego the pleasure of viewing the interior. June 4th 1856. Birmingham This morning I left the ancient city of Chester -- a kind of sleepy hollow, and came to this busy place. I notice, they never ticket your luggage on English Railways. A Depot is always called a Station. Thee Cars are of three Classes, with a differant fare for each class. Each car is divided into three compartments, with the doors on the sides of the cars, By this system half the Passengers are compelled to ride backwards. The Depots here are much better than those in America. The Birmingham depot might well be called a Crystal Palace, for so it is!
