Ginger-snaps. 1 cup of butter. 1 cup of sugar. 1 cup of molasses. 1 teaspoonful of soda dissolved in one-half cup of boiling water. 1 teaspoonful of ginger. Mix hard, roll thin and bake quickly. Hard gingerbread. 1 egg. 1 cup of white sugar 1/2 cup of sour milk. 1/2 teaspoonful of soda. 1 cup of butter a little salt and nutmeg.
