Favorite Wartime Cake 1 cup molasses 1 cup corn syrup 1 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons fat 1 pkg seeded raisins cut once 1 tesp. cloves Boil all of these ingredients 5 mins. after they start to bubble. When cold add 1/2 tesp. soda dissolved in 1 tesp. hot water 3 cups flour 2 tesp. B. Powder Bake in 2 loves 45 min in slow oven 1/2 tesp. cin. 1/2 tesp. salt White Cake 1 Cup sugar 1/2 cup butter scant 2 eggs 3/4 cup milk cups flour vanilla 2 tespoon B.P. C. filling 2 eggs beaten with a little vanilla add 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup sweet cream or condensed milk boil with a little corn starch about 1 tespoon add 2 cup chopped nuts when cool.
