Cakes. Date Cake 1 cup sugar 1 tablespoon butter 1 egg 1 cup dates 1 " hot water pour over dates 1 tesp soda dis in hot. 1/2 cup nut meats 1 3/4 to 2 cups flour. bake in slow oven. Ant Rosa Poppy Seed Cake 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 " butter 3/4 " milk 3/4 " poppy seed or less. 2 " flour 2 tesp B. P. cream butter & sugar. add milk seed & flour and lastly the beaten eggs whites of 4 eggs Filling for Cake. Use yokes of eggs. 1 heaping tablespoon corn startch 2 cups milk. 3/4 cups sugar. Boil untill quite thick then flavor. with vanilla sprinkle with meats on top. Aunt Rosie White Cake 1/2 cup butter or other shortening 1 cup sugar 2 egg yokes well beaten 3/4 cup milk 1 tesp vanilla 2 cups S. D. cake flour, 3 tesp B. P. Lastly stiffly beaten egg whites. Sift once, measure add B. P. and sift together three time cream butter good
