Short Cake. 1 qt. flour. 1/4 lb. lard 1/4 lb. butter. Mix with cold water. Sugar Biscuit. M [Rund?] 1 lb. of Butter. 2 lb. " flour. 1 lb. " sugar. 2 table spoonfuls rose water. 4 eggs. Butter and sugar beaten to a cream, beat the eggs very light and add to the sugar & butter. Last of all add the 2 lbs. sifted flour.
