becoming indeed. I went back over to Etties and stayed awhile. But spent the latter part of the afternoon and took supper with Mrs Beecher. As soon as I had eaten my supper I went down to Duncans. Did not stop any time at all but came back up to McKinstrys to spend the evening. The folks were down from home and we had quite a pleasant time. I went down to Duncans to stay all night And Esther went out home with the folks. I had a letter from Charlie this evening. The weather today was more pleasant. A year ago tonight what a pleasant time I did have. We had a party for Mother and how every one did seem to enjoy themselves. I wonder if Owen feels as well tonight as he did then. Sunday March 21st 1875. I went to church with Mr Duncans family this morning. Our folks were down and I came out home After dinner I helped Laura wash the dishes and then wrote a twelve page letter to Mother. Esther did not go home this morning. In the eve we young folks went to church and took her home. We went to bed soon after we came home. This forenoon was pleasant. But late in the afternoon it snowed a little.
