Sunday October 4- 1931 We were here till about the middle of the afternoon LeGrand and I went to Oakland Alberta did not feel like going. The Rowes took us out to dinner. LeGrand came home before it was late I spent the night there. They are so nicely situated The morning papers told that both The Citizens and Johnson Co banks are closed I wrote Hattie and LeGrand wrote his Father. Monday October 5- 1931 The forenoon visiting with The Rowes and Frank Fletcher who called I talked with Frankie [Frisk?] [Hus] over the phone and tried to get Mort Allen but they were out of town After lunch Rowe put me on the car for the ferry. On here by taxi Letters forwarded from Cousin Ella Lizzie Felkner One from Hattie with Winnies enclosed and Lula Vlock LeGrand had a special from Ott telling of bank conditions there. Wrote Hattie & Lula Vlock Tuesday October 6- 1931 I read some and visited with Alberta she went out to do errands later.
