Tuesday April 3rd 1923 This is bro Robs birthday. I finished drying my things and ironed them. We went to town. I stopped at Pickens and rode with them to The Station where I got the order for my reservation. Later to picture show. We went back in evening. But did not hear Radio. Wednesday April [4th] 1923 Was busy all AM packing my trunk. Went down at 2 PM. I spent part of afternoon at Library. Mr Falk sent my trunk in at 5 PM. I got it to station and mailed letter to Hattie with check. Had supper at The Hutchinson and spent part of evening with The Pickens. Later met the folks and went to picture show. Letter from Laura. Vene has been real sick. weather summer heat. Thursday April 5th 1923 We were busy all AM. Had early dinner. Mr Nutting took us to The Station. The train held by a freight wreck near De Leon Springs. I did no get to Jacksonville till nearly two oclock. Went directly to hotel. Mrs Falk and Miss Nagle went back to DeLand to go to St Augustine. Friday April 6th 1923 I found there no through train to Chatanooga till 8.15 PM. I spent the day resting till 4 PM. I went up to the Park in the city. Stopped for my supper on the way back. I wrote to Hattie and Laura. I got on my train about 8 oclock and was able to get a lower berth, went to bed early.
