Wednesday April 25th 1923 This is bro Charlies birthday. It is nice I am here with his family. I left for Chillicothe at 2.15. Found Mattie about through house cleaning. a letter from Hattie. We went down town for supper. Thursday April 26th {1923} Mattie had company for dinner. I was down town late in PM. Wrote Cora and Warner McCall. I have made plans to start home Saturday afternoon. Friday April 27th 1923 Wrote to Ida in AM and went to the bank and to call on Mrs Esker. Had a sleep after dinner. John took us for a ride after 5 oclock. we spent evening with Mrs Dunlap. Saturday April 28th 1923 Wrote to Joe Woolf and did part of my packing. It rained nearly all day. I took a sleep and dressed to go away. John and Mattie took me to station. Left Cincinnati 9.45. Sunday April 29th 1923 Reached Chicago at 7.30. Went to Rock island Station for breakfast. Warner McCall came to spend what time I waited with me. Left at ten oclock. Reached home at 3.45. The Whetstones met me. We rode to Coralville. Ott & Fannie here for supper and the evening. Monday April 30th 1923 I put in the AM unpacking. The girls away in afternoon. I wrote Mrs Falk, Laura, Mattie, Millie and Lizzie L-- Had a card from her. The folks in town in evening. I was at Otts till they came home. weather fine.
