Sunday October 7th 1923 I was up early and started fires in both my stoves. We were shocked to see in The Morning papers that John P Irish was killed by a street car yesterday in Oakland. Hattie went to church. I out to Hedges to dinner. While I was at Folsoms the folks stopped for me to take a ride. Monday October 8th 1923 I was busy sewing till three oclock in the PM. I took a taxi to town and went to the cemetery. I met Mrs Huffman and Emma Hart up there. I did some errands and came home in Coralville taxi. Rob & Cora went to Sioux Falls tonight for a visit. Tuesday October 9th 1923 Still sewing some. Hattie & I rode to town and back with Fannie in the afternoon. I called at Dr Ellis. The family go to Mt Vernon. After supper Hattie and I got ready and went with Ott & Fannie to a musical at Pratts. Wrote Warner McCall and sent papers. Wednesday October 10th 1923 I did some work about the my part of the house and wrote to Ida Pinney and sent her a paper about John Irish death. Hattie had Missionary meeting here in afternoon. Home in evening knitting for her. Fine day. Thursday October 11th 1923 LeGrand got home this morning. I was down to see him. Hattie to a luncheon. I went to town in taxi and we went to picture show together. Home in Coralville taxi. Ott & family with The VanHornes away till bed time.
