Sunday March 23rd 1924 It rained so I was not out of the house all day. I had a number of Iowa City papers to read. I see May Fairall has died. Mattie to church in evening. Monday March 24th 1924 I felt pretty bad with my throat. But John took \me to the 1.30 car to go to Granville. Ida met me spent the evening visiting. doctored my throat & to bed. Tuesday March 25th 1924 It rained all day. I talked what I felt able to do. Read and rested and wrote Mattie. To bed early. Wednesday March 26th 1924 Ida felt wretched early in forenoon and went to Newark in afternoon for treatment. I wrote Sue & Sallie Reed, Amanda Anderson and Hattie. Had letter from her. My throat still hurts me in spite of all I do. Thursday March 27th 1924 I wrote to Vene in AM. It cleared at noon and Ida went down town. I rested. Did not feel able to go. Friday March 28th 1924 A pleasant day. I feel some better. Wrote Lizzie Lindley. I went down town with Ida in afternoon. To bed early. Saturday March 29th 1924 This is Bro Lees birthday and sic years today Will and I left Oklahoma City together. I came back to Chillicothe in the afternoon. I found a telegram from Ed Reed at Portsmouth telling his Aunt Sue died this morning. I had a doctor for my throat tonight. Hard rain last night
