Mrs Cooke's Drop Cake Cookies 1 cup sugar 1/2 (small) cup shortening part lard 2/3 cup milk nutmeg 2 large teaspoons baking powder flour to just roll Blood Stains Dampen clean cloth & dip in borax and rub on stain- repeat if necessary Alcohol will remove from fabrics a great many stains that are thought indelible, it will dissolve and neutralize the oil of poison ivy that spreads over the flesh so quickly, the white spots from water can be removed from the varnished surface of wood with it without injury if one works quickly, and in scores of ways is it of use about the house.
