Fine Aunt Jen's Dumplings for veal etc. 2 cups flour 1 " milk 2 teaspoons baking p - 1 " salt Steam 25 minutes good & hard Half large enough for four people French Toast Slices of bread dipped in egg beaten & seasoned Fry brown All colors cannot be set by the same process. Use a large tablespoon of salt to a gallon of lukewarm water for blue, pink, and some reds. Use a stronger solution for black or black and white, and sometimes a little turpentine may be added. For yellows, tans and browns use a teacup of vinegar to a gallon of lukewarm water.
