Thursday January 27th 1916 A drizzling day. I was busy with fancy work and wrote Cora. Had a letter forwarded from W.B. McCall Friday January 28th 1916 Still raining by spells and freezing. I keep busy with my fancy work. I had a letter from Fannie. Hattie got started Tuesday at 3 PM. Vene busy ironing. Saturday January 29th 1916 Weather the same. Vene busy with the regular work. I did fancy work and cleaned up my room. I wrote Rob. Will went up town for last mail but no word from home. Sunday January 30th 1916 The worst day yet. So dark and rainy. We both read all day and sat around the hard coal burner to visit. To bed early. Monday January 31st 1916 It cleared of colder. ice every where. We had two cards from Hattie. She had been delayed by floods. A card from Cora and letter from Rob. I wrote all of them before noon. A line from Rob in evening tells of a telegram from his Mother. She reached Los Angeles at noon yesterday. Tuesday February 1st 1916 Weather unpleasant. Rainy again. I was at home all day did some fancy work. Had a good letter from Mary Wolf. Vene busy with the regular work
