Wednesday February 2nd 1916 It was bright early in the day but grew cold and cloudy. I was at home all day busy with several things a letter from Lois Simpson. Thursday February 3rd 1916 It was cold but Vene worked. There was a partial eclipse of the sun early in forenoon. I was busy with fancy work and reading. No letters today. Friday February 4th 1916 I did my own ironing that kept me busy all forenoon. In afternoon did fancy work for Lydia. It looks stormy again. Saturday February 5th 1916 I did some work in my room and knit in forenoon. After late dinner went up town. I called at Mrs. Kers on my way home. Wrote Mary Wolf, had a letter from [Saida?] Lope but no letters from home folks since Monday. Sunday February 6th 1916 It snowed last night and part of today. Did not go to church. Read a book during the day and talked with the folks in the sitting room in the evening. Monday February 7th 1916 It was a cold day but no wind. Vene did washing and got the most of the clothes dry. I am knitting mittens and wrote some. I had a letter from Cora with a long one from Hattie enclosed a short letter from Hattie myself. She stood the trip well and is keeping house with [Louie Folty?]
