Sunday February 13th 1916 The Websters came out from Pekin while we were at breakfast. It snowed so none of us went to church. Will and I walked over to Duncans after dinner. The Websters were just starting away when we got back. Lorna went away a little after six o'clock. We went to bed early. It had been a tiresome day for Vene. Monday February 14th 1916 I worked most of the forenoon to pack our trunk the man took it to the depot soon after dinner. I put our room in order and visited till time to start at 5.25 Lydia still in bed but much better. Tuesday February 15th 1916 We were delayed at Rock Island last night and did not get to Iowa City till 4 oclock this morning. We went to bed at the New West Hotel and slept till 9.15. Got some breakfast down town and home at 11.30. Mr. Moore had the house warm. I gave the house a going over in the afternoon and unpacked the trunk later. It seems good to be home. Weather pleasant. Wednesday February 16th 1916 I went down on the 9.15 this morning and over the river to see Fannie and Cora, & then up town to see Dr Smith about some sore toe nails that has troubled me lately. He does not think them serious. It was late when I got home for our dinners. I did some fancy work in afternoon.
