Monday July 17th 1916 I did some washing this forenoon and ironed the things while Will was down town in afternoon. I had supper early and was dressed to go to Chautauqua but a cloud in the West kept me at home. It did not rain and we walked down to Lewis' store for ice cream. A letter says the girls come from Delavan Wednesday. Tuesday July 18th 1916 I cleaned up stairs and got the girls room ready. I went down to Hatties at 2:15. They got home last night. After supper I rode to town with Rob and out to Chautauqua grounds. I came home with Mrs Pointain and Ida Miller. Wednesday July 19th 1916 I did work in the lower story and prepared things for supper. Will went down at 2:15 to meet the girls. Edith and Catherine and I was dressed to go to Chautauqua but it looked like a storm. It passed to the north so it only sprinkled here. Rob brought the girls out in the Auto. Hattie was with them but went back after supper. Spent the evening on the porch. weather some cooler. Thursday July 20th 1916 I was busy most of the forenoon with the dinner and prepared lunch to take to Chautauqua. The girls went with me at 2:15. The Andersons were all there and we had our supper together Will Anderson brought me home. The girls stayed for the evening session. Hattie had a letter from Ida today at North Henderson. Aunt Electa's husband is dead. The Whetstones started on a three days Auto trip. They have Blanche Jellison with them
