Tuesday August 15th 1916 We left the boat at 5:30 and Davenport at six. Reached home at 7:45 had breakfast and out home at 8:30. I unpacked and got dinner. Hattie out for supper. Wednesday August 16th 1916 I went in town at 10:15. Was up in Mr. Bremmans office to finish paying for insurance on west farm. Then out to Aunt Emmas. There were others invited. a fine days visit but I was late getting home and very tired. the car was late. Thursday August 17th 1916 I did a big washing done as Will was mowing the yard. I went down to Hatties to visit with Aunt Em's family in afternoon and did not come home till 8:30 very warm. a letter from Lydia/ The girls got home on time. Friday August 18th 1916 I ironed and baked a cake in forenoon. about the middle of afternoon Fannie phoned her new dining room set had come and she would send hers out to me. Will helped me empty my side board that I sent down to Tishie Hedges and we put the furniture in place. It was very warm work. I sat on the porch after supper. Saturday August 19th 1916 Will and I went down town at 9:15 to see "The Ringling Show" parade. I saw The Stevens folks. Aunt Ellen had stopped to see Uncle Jim. He is very weak and suffering greatly. It was too hot to attempt the show. We came home for our dinner. I slept some in afternoon. We sat on the porch all evening.
