Thursday January 11th 1917 It was a cold day but had stopped storming. I was busy with little things about the work and read some. Friday January 12th 1917 I did some washing in the forenoon. I went down town at 1:15 to get some things needed for dinner tomorrow and went to a picture show (Mrs George Washington). I had a letter from Lydia, they have been sick with colds. I wrote her. I did some work in the kitchen after supper. Saturday January 13th 1917 It was a very cold morning but I get the kitchen warm to get dinner for the folks were all out for the day. Ott and Rob could stay only long enough to eat dinner and William went back with them. I read most of the evening. Sunday January 14th 1917 A very cold morning. I did not attempt to go to church. Will and I had a long talk about our trip and decided to go to Florida the 24th by way of Chicago. I wrote letter to Sue & Sallie Reed, [Lciota?] Lape, Will Anderson, Mattie Stitt, Lydia, Mollie Fletcher, Lizzie Lindley, Art Robinson & Louie Foltz. Monday January 15th 1917 Still cold but not so bad as yesterday. Will and I went down town. I was over the river a little while and went to the depot with Fannie. She & Ott went to Des Moines. I came home at 4:30. I got a sweater at Getters ad saw Mary Woolf in there buying a new cloak. We decided this evening I would go look for one tomorrow.
