Tuesday January 30th 1917 It was a fine warm day. We were on the porch most of the time. I wrote some and did fancy work. Mr Falk is picking some oranges for market. Walter brought some mail tonight. a letter from Hattie. Wednesday January 31st 1917 It was warm as summer time. Mrs Falk went in town with Walter in the morning. I did the work and got the dinner. Will and I were on the porch most of the afternoon. We all went down town to the picture show in the eve. Letters from Fannie & Millie Stitt. Thursday February 1st 1917 I walked up to Taylors in the forenoon and soon after dinner went back and down town with them. I was invited to a little party at Mrs Slemmons and Moorehead Had a pleasant afternoon with Walter. a letter from Ott. Friday February 2nd 1917 It rained last night and is mush cooler today. I began work on my crotcheted bed spread. I wrote Hattie. Saturday February 3rd 1917 It was a very cold night. Mr Falk and Walter were up nearly all night firing the heaters in the grove. Mrs Falk did not get must rest either. When Walter came home he told that The German Ambassador had been his passport home. A bad condition for the war. Sunday February 4th 1917 very cold again last night. The men up part of the night. We went to church. Had dinner in town and come on home. Callers I the afternoon. We all went to bed early.
