Monday April 30th 1917 It looked like rain but I went down to Hatties in the 8:15 car. I come to town when Rob brought her over to go to Burlington at 10:20. I got some things and home at 11:30. I sewed all afternoon on shirts for Will. It snowed in afternoon. Tuesday May 1st 1917 It was a cold raw day but the snow disappeared. I had a letter from Ida and [Homer?] McCall. I sewed most of the day. Wednesday May 2nd 1917 I was busy with the work most of the forenoon. I went to town at 2:15. I did some trading. was up at Otts office. He gave me a check for $63.00 abstract interest. I paid my bills at Stillwells and at Smith & Hiatts. I was at the M E Church where Division 2 was having a sale. Home at 5:30. Read in evening. Thursday May 3rd 1917 I cut out another shirt for Will in the forenoon. I helped him set out strawberry plants jist before noon. I went down at 2:45 to a meeting at Baptist Church. I intended going over to see Hattie who got home from Burlington. She said Birdie was selling her things of and would soon be up here. It rained so I came home at 6:20. I was glad to get in our of the cold. Friday May 4th 1917 I did some baking and the regular work in the forenoon. I sewed all day and part of the evening to finish Wills shirts. weather unpleasant. Will about the house most of the day.
