Saturday June 2nd 1917 I did not go to sleep till mid-night last night and it poured till that time and really rained all night. a man came out to paint the wood work in the two front rooms. I got them ready, fixed Wills dinner, baked a cake to take down to Hatties and went at 11:15 in the rain. She had some of the relatives. I did not come home till after supper. It was fine then. a letter from Ida & Millie neither will come now. Sunday June 3rd 1917 It was a nice day. I was all forenoon putting the house in order. the front rooms were all out of place as the painted left them, Wrote to Ida. Late in the afternoon Rob called and said Walter Falk was in tone with his wife. They were to be over to Hattie for supper. We went down at 6:15 and spent a very pleasant evening. They were married at Fort Dodge yesterday. They went to Davenport tonight. Monday June 4th 1917 It looked like rain. Will & I made some more garden early and then I went on with the washing. I wrote a letter to Edith Mason as soon as we got through dinner. I cleaned the garret and put the clothes on the line. They got dry. Tuesday June 5th 1917 I did the ironing and some baking in forenoon. I went down to Hatties in afternoon. she had The Presbyterian Aid division for the day. Had a little visit with Birdie who came yesterday. I came home at 5:30. There was a terrible storm tonight. I was so very tired tonight.
