Wednesday June 6th 1917 It was a very pleasant day. I did not attempt to go to Aid Society at Mrs Connons. I did some sewing and rested from being so tired the last few days. Thursday June 7th 1917 I had baking on hand today. Will was down town in the morning. I got my work all done and table set for co9mpany by 1:13. Aunt Emma came out at 2:30 and Birdie and Hattie later. Mollie at 5:39. Rob came for them at nine oclock. We had a pleasant visit. Joe Woolfs birthday. Friday June 8th 1917 I had a little spare time before noon and in the afternoon I gave up going to town it looked so much like rain. I was out in the yard where Will was at work part of the time and blacked the kitchen stove. Crotcheted in evening. Fannie & William started to Minneapolis in The Dodge car. Saturday June 9th 1917 I was busy doing some extra things about the house in forenoon. I went to town at 1:15. I got myself a fine new rain coat. Rob took me over to Hatties with my things and I had supper sith she and Birdie. I came back to town with the folks in time for the 7:30 came. Wrote Lydia after I came back. Ott is the car going to North Liberty. William came back from Waterloo and Fannie went on by train. Sunday June 10th 1917 I prepared things for dinner before going to church. After I got the dinner over I read the papers. Will went up the track in back of Jones house where the car had killed one of Arts cows and derailed the car. no one was hurt. a beautiful day. Ott had a letter from May Green Bohr. we have not heard from her for nearly two years.
