Wednesday June 27th 1917 There was an Elder Daughters party today but I was not able or did not care to go. I ironed some, got the meals and slept awhile in afternoon. Will picked up old picket fence. Aunt Emma started west at 3:35 P.M. to spend the summer with Mary. Thursday June 28th 1917 I baked a cake and did some other extra work in forenoon. Will took down some picket fence after working in the garden. I wrote letters to Aunt Sarah, May Baker, and Cousin Millie and after supper to Lizzie Lindley. The folks got an early start this morning and it has been fine day for the trip. Friday June 29th 1917 Will had a hard forenoons work cleaning up the old stuff from the fence. I was busy all forenoon. went down for the mail. a card from Rob. No word from Masons. I wrote a card to Lydia and Fannie and took all my mail down to Mr Edwards before dinner. I slept in afternoon. Will mowed the yard. We spent the evening on the porch. Saturday June 30th 1917 I was busy with the work all forenoon. I washed out a few things and baked bread. Will went to town to pay some final bills about the improvements the total $334.82 We feel the money well spent. I slept part of the afternoon and he read and rested. I went down town at 7:15 to see Dr Smith who gave me some more medicine and got a basket of groceries and did other errands. Rob & Cora were married 9 years ago today. a warm day. our first peas today.
