Friday August 10th 1917 I was busy with the work most of the forenoon. I had another letter from Lydia. Hattie wanted to come down in afternoon but I would rather she not come out here which she did. We spent the evening on the porch. Saturday August 11th 1917 I worked quite a lot on my spread today. Will went to town in afternoon. I slept awhile. I have felt better today than any time for two months. Birdie phoned in the evening that Hattie had been sick all afternoon I wrote Mattie Stitt and Lizzie Lindley early in afternoon. Sunday August 12th 1917 It rained some in the forenoon. I still fell better and was busy about the house most of the forenoon. I read some in afternoon and took a nap. Ott was out for a couple of hours early in the evening. And later Rob & Cora for an hour. The young folks had been riding most of the day. Hattie not well and she and Birdie spent the day alone. Monday August 13th 1917 I did not rest well last night and did only what I had to for the day. A letter from Laura Mason says she has a position in Pawnee, Ill at $1000 a year. heard from LeGrand says he will be home to go on with his medical care. Tuesday August 14th 1917 I had a wretched night with indigestion. Rob took me down to the Dr in afternoon and then over the river. The young folks went for a ride. I had some supper at Hatties and Bro Ott brought me home in the Dodge Car. Fannie is expected tonight.
