Will Cora and I sat on the porch to visit till we came home at 4:30. Did not get any supper. we sat on the porch till I went to bed at 9 oclock. Monday August 27th 1917 I was sick all night but up and worked around most of the forenoon. It rained some in afternoon. We heard today that Cousin Dick Moon died the 21st with dyptheria. and a paper from [our?] May tells of the death of her 9 year old daughter. I wrote to her and a letter to Lydia. Tuesday August 28th 1917 Will got me a small drying of corn from our garden. I felt like taking care of it and put up a few tomatoes. I had a letter from Laura. her Mother and Lydia went up to [Marlies?] yesterday in the Auto. Robert came for them. The Whetstones and Blackburns left for Pennsylvania this morning. They all went to the Amana Colony yesterday.
