Tuesday October 2nd 1917 Hattie called early this morning and told me that Aunt Lib died last night. She had come home earlier in the evening. I wrote cards to Vene, Jen, Alice Condon, Winnie, Mattie Stitt, sister Ida, & Lizzie Lindley. I went down town at 1:15 to get a hat fixed and took my treatment home at 5:30. Wednesday October 3rd 1917 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. Did a little sewing. Will went to town at 1:15 and I an hour later to go over to Aunt Libs to call. Home at 4:30. Thursday October 4th 1917 My bushel of peaches came yesterday PM. I put up 12 qts in the forenoon and Will & I left at 1:15 to attend Aunt Libs funeral at two oclock. It was a pleasant day and the relatives were all there. I rode up to the cemetery with The Whetstones. I stopped in town to pay for my hat. wrote a note of Lydia. got my gloves that were being changed. Home at 4:30. after supper wrote a note to Uncle Jim and did some work in the cellar. Friday October 5th 1917 Did the washing and part of ironing. made jelly and with other work about the house was busy all day long. Saturday October 6th 1917 I finished the ironing and made jelly in forenoon. I hurried to get down to the 12:15 car that was halted in front of the house. It was nearly two oclock before I got down to Hatties where Mrs Gibbs was spending the day with the children. I come home on the 4:30 [late?] I put up the rest of the peaches in the evening. I have 20 qts and we have [caned?] a great many on the table.
