Saturday October 27th 1917 It was foggy and misting in forenoon. I wrote letters very bright in afternoon. The girls were up town. I wrote some more and talked with Mr Parsons form Lincoln. I went up town with the girls in evening to the movies. Sunday October 28th 1917 Nice weather in a.m. I went to church alone but came back with the girls, Vene had a fine chicken dinner I read and wrote some in P.M. Edith and the girls went back at 6:30. I read aloud some in evening, There were indications of a storm at bed time. Monday October 29th 1917 It rained most of the night with thunder and lightning. By ten oclock this a.m. it had turned to snow. I hired a man to take me over to Lizzie Duncans where I spent a pleasant afternoon and evening. Tuesday October 30th 1917 The ground was white with snow. It had melted enough that Lizzie and I walked up town. She went to the dentists and I called on Sallie Sealey. Mrs Shurts and Harty McKinstry. I had a letter from Will & wrote to him. Wednesday October 31st 1917 It was a fine morning. I called at Eva Taylors and Dr McClays in the forenoon. I helped Lizzie with some things she was getting ready for sewing. I went back over to Venes jist before night. The Woolfs and Ruth had been there for the afternoon.
