Saturday November 10th 1917 Hattie and I cleaned up the house and got a lunch for Will. LeGrand took us with the ladies at the other house to The Miss Sanders to a luncheon. He came for us at four oclock and we drove to the cemetery and around town. Hattie and I called at [K..vers?] and at the other house in the evening. Had a good letter from Lydia. The lights are going in. Sunday November 11th 1917 I was home this morning and inclined to cough so did not go to church. Will & I both went to Coralville in afternoon. The folks were Auto riding. It was a perfect day. Spent the evening reading. Hattie went to church with Paul. Monday November 12th 1917 Hattie had help to wash a lot of things in the morning. They she prepared things to take to "The Old Ladies Home." I got our dinner. Orie Spencer spent the afternoon with me. We were at home all the evening. Tuesday November 13th 1917 Miss Fellman came to sew today. I helped got some of Hatties things ready while she went to town. We went down to Fannies late in the afternoon for a little while. She had the neighbors in for her cousin 'Maggie before she goes to Clarinda tomorrow. We were home all the evening. Word from Rob & Cora tell of a nice trip and accomplishing wheat Rob wanted to at St Anthony.
