Friday December 14th 1917 We had a big washing to do. Hattie did some cleaning and got dinner for Robs folks as Mrs Fellman was sewing for Cora. Late in afternoon Rob took Fannie Hattie & I to the M E Church to Bazaar and supper. We came back at 6 oclock with Rob. Later Ott & Fannie were here Rob had a long distance call from Harry Mason the middle of afternoon saying his Father had died yesterday morning ad a dispatch had been sent to us. It came an hour later. We could not go. I wrote Vene we will go later on. Saturday December 15th 1917 We were busy most of the forenoon. The folks were here for dinner again. Hattie Fannie & I went to town about two oclock. They to Mrs Maggards funeral and I did some shopping. Will went to Coralville to build fire as he has done nearly every day for a week. Evening at home. Sunday December 16th 1917 It was cold so I did not go to church. I wrote some letters. Ron took Hattie and I to town to The Crusaders given by Music school at The Armory. It was dark when we came out. Rob & Cora brought us home and we had supper there Later in the evening I wrote some more. Monday December 17th 1917 We were busy all forenoon. Hattie went to the Red Cross rooms in afternoon. I was sewing on Christmas gifts. It is enough warmer that it is beginning to thaw some. I got a little more mail ready today. Evening at home.
