Monday May 13th 1918 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. I went to town at 1:24 to The Library for books and to a picture show. Home at 4:39. I carried an umbrella but it did not rain. Will mowed the yard. Tuesday May 14th 1918 I had things ready to leave for Wills dinner so I went down to Hatties at 10:01. She had Mrs Swisher, Mrs Ball and Fannie. I was not ready to come home at 4:30 so phoned Will to come down for supper. Rob & Cora had been to Muscatine and they were home in time to eat supper with us. Will & I came home at 8:00. I have been quite happy today. Will worked of the wood pile. Wednesday May 15th 1918 Will was working in the garden. I helped him put out some tomato plants after I fixed a place to put out slips from the geranium Mother gave me the spring before she died. I prepared some things for supper and was ready to visit with Mollie when she came at 4:30. Hattie came at 6:00. Rob come for them at bedtime, letter from Lydia. Thursday May 16th 1918 Will busy in the garden most of the forenoon. I went down to the store for some things and had dinner so I went to town at 1:24. I had lilacs to take to the cemetery. I went directly there. I got some meat and berries for dinner tomorrow and came home at 3:10. I rested awhile then went down to the store for the [paper?] and other things. After supper fixed things for dinner tomorrow. I have felt awfully depressed today.
