Friday August 16th 1918 I baked a cake and helped with the meals and put in the rest of the time on the bed. Frankie Pointain spent the evening with me. Saturday August 17th 1918 It was a warm day. I finished Roberts socks and crotcheted while in bed. I slept some in afternoon. I sat with Will on the porch awhile in the evening. Ott home this A.M. Sunday August 18th 1918 It rained last night and the roads were too muddy for the folks to come out. I was up only long enough to write Cousin Jane. Mrs Jones brought me a piece of cake in the eve. Monday August 19th 1918 I wrote a note to Gertrude Smith. I was only up for the day when necessary to do the work. I crotcheted some and read in bed. Tuesday August 20th 1918 I had a letter from Lydia. She said Robert Patton was likely to go any day. I got the socks ready and sent them to town by Art Jones at 1:24 to mail for me. was in bed till four in the afternoon. I wrote a long letter to Lydia. The folks were out in the evening so I sent it to town. Wednesday August 21st 1918 I was up most of the forenoon. I washed out some towels and baked two loaves of bread. Mrs Yount spent the afternoon with me. The weather is warm again. It was the most beautiful night. I was very nervous and did not rest well.
