Wednesday August 28th 1918 I was up all the forenoon. But spent the afternoon on the bed. Art Jones is mowing the big lot for Will. He busy with the scythe. Rob brought Cora out to spend the evening. I had a letter from Hattie. a very warm spell all afternoon. Thursday August 29th 1918 Five months today since we left Oklahoma City. I felt able to wash out some shirts for Will. a beautiful day. he went to town in afternoon to release the mortgage on the land here as Art Jones is to pay it in. I wrote Hattie. Friday August 30th 1918 I ironed in the forenoon. It was slow work because the light power was not very good. I cleaned up the south bed room. we will sleep up stairs now. There was a hard storm last night. I rested awhile in afternoon. Will was out where Art was mowing. he got it all done. I wrote a long letter to Lydia and sent to town. I laid on the couch most of the evening. Will & I talked while he sat near me. Saturday August 31st 1918 I washed three colored shirts for Will and a couple of aprons for myself. Will went to town in the afternoon. I was on the bed a letter from Lydia says Laura has a position in Delavan. Sunday September 1st 1918 Will and I talked about the folks in Oklahoma most of the forenoon either on the porch or my room up stairs. I put on my old green silk after dinner. The folks were out. They had Aunty & Ida who came this morning. It is 7 years today since Mother died.
