Sunday September 8th 1918 It is 38 years today since John & Hattie were married. I had the head ache so I slept little last night. I took a little nap after dinner. The folks were out later. Ida and Aunty were to go to their own home tonight. Monday September 9th 1918 I was busy with the work all forenoon. I went to town at 1:24. I wrote a card to Lydia. After doing some errands I went out to Idas. She was working away putting things in place. I came home at 4:30. I was very tired. Tuesday September 10th 1918 It was a rainy day. I did some cooking in the forenoon. I felt so badly I took the hot water bottle and lay on the bed reading part of the afternoon. I wrote to Lizzie Lindley before supper. I lay on the lounge most of the evening. letter from Lydia. Wednesday September 11th 1918 I went down to the store in forenoon and selected a basket of peaches. Will brought them up and I worked at them all the afternoon. Rob & Cora were here in the evening. Thursday September 12th 1918 This is the day the men from 18 to 45 register for war service. It is to be hoped they will not be needed. It was two years today since Will and I started west. I worked away at my peaches. I finished about 4 oclock I have 22 qts with quite a few left for the table. Rob & Cora called a few minutes. I read all evening. I have not felt well since Monday from indigestion.
