Saturday March 1st 1919 It was more pleasant today. Vene and Edith were busy with the work most of the day. Laura went to a social affair. I wrote Fannie in PM and took the letter to the depot. Sunday March 2nd 1919 I got up very late. The girls were at church. I wrote Ott in regard to renting the Coralville property as I had a letter from him late last night. Mary Woolf is worse. Monday March 3rd 1919 It was affine day and Vene did the washing. Edith helped some before going to Pekin on the forenoon train. The Woolfs got a message at 1:30 that Mary had died. I wrote to the Reed girls, Lizzie Lindley, The Woolf girls, and Hattie in the afternoon. Oh how sad I feel tonight. Tuesday March 4th 1919 I had letters from both Hattie and Ott today. I did not do much of anything. Read aloud to finish the book I bought that Will was reading when he died. The Woolfs went to Iowa City today. Mary will be buried tomorrow. Wednesday March 5th 1919 It is 18 years today since Lee was buried. We had jist moved to The Coralville place. I wrote Ella Nagle and John Ware. Thursday March 6th 1919 I had a letter from Hattie today telling about being at Marys funeral yesterday and going down later to see Frank and Sophie Woolf. I worked a little on my crotchet lace today. weather quite pleasant.
