Wednesday July 2nd 1919 I worked in the back part of the house till three oclock. Then wrote The Girls. Laura and I had our supper early and Rob took us up to the cemetery. We went to our lot first and then all over the grounds. Came back on street car. Walked home. The paper says Charlie Smith at Coralville died suddenly today. There is so much to talk over with Will if he were here tonight. Thursday July 3rd 1919 I did some washing in the forenoon and in the afternoon cleaned out the drawers to the old desk in the summer kitchen. a very warm day. Paul went home today. Rob & Cora started on an Auto trip to be gone till Sunday. We heard Dr McClay was dead. Friday July 4th 1919 We girls did some ironing in the morning. Laura went to The Park with Aunt Emmas family. I ate dinner with Ott and William and came home in a little while. Minnie Shawers called. Laura came back early. It rained before supper. What a happy day Will and I had down at Marys last year. Saturday July 5th 1919 I did more washing and finished cleaning out the old desk. Did the ironing before supper. William took Laura to town. Sunday July 6th 1919 William took me out to Coralville in the morning. Laura went to church. We both slept in PM. Down to Otts for supper. Monday July 7th 1919 Henry Miller and Mr Vaughn came to work on the old house this morning. They began to change windows. I was busy all day sweeping and cleaning. Ott here in evening.
