Tuesday July 8th 1919 I was watching the men work and in afternoon wrote Hattie enclosing letters from Birdie, Winnie, & Lizzie Duncan. Laura and I rode to town with Rob and Cora to call at Ida Andersons. We stopped at The Store for ice cream. walked home past Otts. very warm. he had jist got a letter. the girls start home Thursday. Wednesday July 9th 1919 Did some baking in forenoon. was out where the men were at work on the house. Laura went to Dr Cleveland in the afternoon. William took her. very warm indeed. Thursday July 10th 1919 Seven months today since Will died. I did some washing in forenoon. weather cooler. William took me to town and to Coralville in the afternoon. sewed in evening. Friday July 11th 1919 William took me to town and Coralville early. I was getting my hat fixed. I got dinner. Hattie came about noon. I ironed in afternoon. She went to Cedar Rapids to Stewart Homes funeral. William took her. Laura to the valley Ott & Fanie and Mr & Mrs Gibbs and children here in evening. Saturday July 12th 1919 Hattie and I sat on the front porch in forenoon. William took the bricks away from Mothers bed room window. I worked after dinner till nearly four oclock cleaning up the back part of the house. The men quit at noon. I rode to town with Rob and got my hat and some other things. Robert & Mildred Mc-- brought me home
