Tuesday September 9th 1919 I went over to the West Side early. very warm. Made several calls and went to Lizzie Duncans. She is not well. I had dinner with Carl & Lou and he brought me home in the car. Wednesday September 10th 1919 I was busy fixing my things to come home. I ironed some for Vene. still warm. The neighbors on the porch all evening. Thursday September 11th 1919 I came to Peoria with the Woolfs. Saw them later where I got my dinner. Then went to Block & Kohls and paid for my carpets. Did not have long to wait till I started to Burlington. Birdie met me. Supper at boarding house. evening visiting. Friday September 12th 119 Three years today Will and I started to Washington and 9 months since I looked at his face the last time. Bird and I had callers most of the day and evening. We walked down to see where The Old Harris house stood. I was down town to mail letters. Saturday September 13th 1919 Bird and I visited in AM. Julia Grimes came to lunch and took us to the depot. I reached home at 3:40. Rob met me. The girls had all gone to Cedar Rapids. I had supper before them came. I was better of away. Sunday September 14th 1919 I am so sad and lonely today. Oh, for my home at Coralville and Will with me. Hattie to church. We walked through The Barracks after dinner. Hattie went on down to Otts. I went down later. I wrote to Ida and Birdie today. A year ago today Will & I went out to Ida's and he helped her.
