Tuesday November 4th 1919 It was much colder today. I helped Cal work button holes in work for her circle. The Grimes Girls, Mrs Blackner, and Mrs Nixon called in afternoon. Mrs John Forney & sister in evening. Wednesday November 5th 1919 Cal and I rode down town with Mr Sheldon. Did some errands and went out on the street car to look at the place where Charlie lived. walked back. Did some sewing. Late in afternoon called at the girls [aunts?] and in the evening was at John Forneys. Was very tired. went right to bed. Thursday November 6th 1919 It was raining slightly this morning. Mr Sheldon took me to the station and Cal went with me. I could not get up town in Peoria. I kept busy with my crotchet work. Edith met me and a good supper waiting and a visit with the folks. Friday November 7th 1919 weather still unpleasant. I was busy looking over the Iowa City papers and crotcheting. I had a letter from Hattie. a great part of the afternoon talking with a man from Havana about the monument on [Withron?] lot here. Saturday November 8th 1919 Edith and I left at 7:30 for Havana to talk with Mr. Haskens about the monument work. He met us at the station took us a ride. I ordered the monument. three markers and corner posts for the lot. We had dinner with Mr Haskins family. Got back to Mason City at 2:30 oclock called on Matilda [Danvers?] came home in time for supper. I am well satisfied with the days work.
